Slow to mature like her dam Bertha, GCH Hodge-Podge Bertha's Sugar was sold five times before she was four years-old for $100 or less and experienced the embarrassment of still being dismissed from large classes at shows.

Yet not to be outdone by brother Henry, Sugar bloomed as a four year-old and went on to win 23 official shows, including the 1980 and 1981 ADGA Nationals, to classify at 6-06 EX93 (91 92 93 94) to milk at 4-11 328 3210 130 4% and produced GCH Sugar Daddy and INBA All-American Sweet Alyssum.
